Technique Classes

  • All classes are 1.5 hours in length and at the Intermediate Skill Level.
  • Sign up for individual classes $30/each or $100/all classes

Chinese Cast On & Bind Off:  $30.00 (limited to 8 people)

Learn the Chinese Cast On & Bind Off method to create beautiful finished edges for the beginning and ending of your projects. Applicable for K1, P1 Ribbing, K2, P2 Ribbing & Seed Stitch.

Finishing Techniques: $30.00 (limited to 8 people)

  1. Sewing shoulders together
  2. Picking up neckband stitches
  3. Setting in sleeves
  4. How to take off cast on edge and knit down

  • What to bring: Front, Back & Sleeve(s) of knitted project in progress and ready for  this stage or…Make a small sweater sample (front, back -with armhole shaping) & sleeve

Kitchener Stitch & Three Needle Bind Off: $30.00 (limited to 8 people)

Kitchener Stitch, also know as Grafting is the method of weaving together live stitches to create a seamless join. Used for scarves, toes of socks, etc…

  1. Grafting knit stitches
  2. Grafting garter stitches

Three Needle Bind Off: A great technique for seamless seams. Good for shoulders, etc…

  • Saturday, April 16: 9:00 – 10:30
  • What to bring: Project(s) at stage for this process or 2 stockinette or garter swatches (approximately 5” X 5”) not bound off, in smooth yarn so you can see the stitches

One Row Buttonholes & Crochet Edges: $30.00 (limited to 8 people)

Buttonholes and crochet edges are two techniques every knitter should know. Calculate the size of your buttonhole based on your button choice. Learn simple crochet stitches so you can finish edges on blankets, scarves, necks, etc…

  • What to bring: Project at stage for crochet edge or buttonhole.  Or a swatch that you can make a buttonhole or finish edge.
