Before our needles even get a chance to heat up with the lush yarns we chose for fall & winter, we are scheduling appointments with reps to buy yarn for Spring 2013. Early morning meetings before the store opens we go through new yarn samples, review patterns/look books, decide which yarns will work for our customers, what samples to knit and most of all – what colors to choose!
It’s not easy picking a color that you yourself would NEVER consider wearing, but rounding out and balancing the palette is very important to the overall presentation when it comes to display. It’s amazing that just one or two colors can make the whole selection ‘pop’! Chances are, if those colors were not part of the picture, you may not even give that beautiful basket of yarn a second glance.
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, discusses color combinations using the top 10 Spring/Summer colors for women in the 2013 (forecast as highlighted in the PANTONE Fashion Color Report Spring 2013).
What’s colors will you be knitting for Spring 2013???
