Beginning Knitting Lessons – Class Sessions

$100.00

Tricoter has created a great community of fiber artists and we’d love for you to join us. We have two sessions available, consult the schedule below to find the right times for you.

Learn to Knit!

This class is designed for everyone—from absolute beginners and those who have only knit a little, to experienced knitters who want to learn or switch to the Continental (Picking) method.

Master the essentials of knitting in a relaxed, friendly, and supportive environment. In this class, you’ll learn the foundational skills of knitting, including casting on, knitting, purling, counting rows and stitches with confidence, working basic increases and decreases, and how to read a pattern. We’ll guide you step by step as you build the skills needed to become a proficient knitter. By the end of the course, you’ll be ready to cast on your very first project!

Continental (Picking) Method

These are simply two names for the same technique. In Continental knitting, the working yarn is held in your left hand while the right-hand needle “picks” the yarn to form each stitch. Many knitters find this method to be efficient, ergonomic, and comfortable, making it an excellent choice for beginners and experienced knitters alike.
